International Baby Wearing Week

November 12-18 is International Babywearing Week! Over at Adventures in Babywearing, Steph has lots of wonderful information about babywearing. She has a give away from Nonny & Boo, all I have to do is post a picture (or tell a story) of babywearing. That is all you have to do to so go and check it out!!!

So here is my contribution. Unfortunately, I have few recent ones ... this is my little Sam all cozied up -- he loved the sling when he was little and now likes to ride in the Ergo Carrier on my back!

My mom made me a sling that I liked (not loved, sorry mom). Actaully the sling was great but the material that I bought was not great. I have since bought an Ergo Carrier and like it quite well. It has it's flaws but in general it is quite versitile for both myself and Dan! When I just went to their web page I was glad to see that they have expanded their organics line (I had only one choice two years ago)!

I have used an aluminum framed backpack - my oldest daughter loved it and as she was a peanut that loved to run, it worked great! But I have to say that my back just could not handle my bigger babies in it! I would love to try some sort of wrap -- I have used just a piece of material that has some stretch and tied it up and it worked quite well.

I have to say there have been days when babywearing has been wonderful! It gives me free hands to cook dinner and a lot of the time it can provide a nap for a cranky baby! It works for us! Honestly, I am going to hold my baby next to me, just as long as I possibly can!!!!

Hey, we think alike, I'm working on my post now! :)

Love babywearing pics! I have few recent ones too, this lil man doesn't like his um, you know, squished. Gotta find the right hold for him.

Great post! :)

I love wearing my babies! Logan is sadly too old, but Claire is fitting perfectly into her backpack now! And I'm going to start wearing her more often - last week I took her stroller out to a historic part of town, and the stroller got hung up on some cobblestones at the bottom of a storefront stairway and it flipped over!! I nearly had a heart attack! Luckily, she was fine (I really don't know how) - but it never would have happened with the backpack!!! Grrrr.

I am like T&T, I bought them too and was never able to use it more than a few times. Not sure, but maybe I was wearing it wrong, but I always felt like I would drop my babies :(
I wish I could've used my slings.

That is so sweet. I love wearing my little man these days, but there is nothing sweeter than having a tiny baby fall asleep while wearing them. We used out sling A TON in the early days. Now that I am a toddler wearer I use my Moshi. I love it!!!
